The Sawtelles/Spliff Presto

The Sawtelles mark the incredible fact that they are releasing their 21st release in 22 years as a band on March 11, 20*23* at Best Video Film & Cultural Center. The show starts at 7 PM with an opening set by Spliff Presto.

Husband and wife duo Pete and Julie Riccio are the foundation of the Sawtelles. Their music is a balance of four elements: alternate-tuned guitar, small drum kit and two voices. Peter plays guitar and Julie plays drums; they both sing. Their sparse but intricately arranged pop is as lush as it is captivatingly unique; what is played as important as what isn’t.

The new record is “Reruns and Pilots #2.”

Martin C. Earley is a long time Guitarist/Singer/Songwriter. Vance Provey is a longtime Trumpeter and Composer. They have been performing together in different groups for over 12 years. In 2022, Martin debuted SPLIFF PRESTO with Vance. They perform original material as well as reinvented songs using their own, sometimes improvised musics. It's a swirling, beat driven, FX-soaked, Sci-Fi guitar, trumpet, and vocal mash-up with hypnotic tendencies and rug-cutting possibilities.
