The Vengeance Trilogy, directed by South Korean filmmaker Park Chan-wook, is a three-part series of films exploring the themes of revenge, justice, and redemption. The trilogy consists of Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (2002), Oldboy (2003), and Lady Vengeance (2005). Each film features a unique storyline, but they are all thematically connected through their exploration of the destructive nature of vengeance. Park's masterful direction, coupled with the powerful performances of the cast, makes the trilogy a cinematic masterpiece.
Oldboy tells the story of a man who is kidnapped and held captive for 15 years without any explanation. Upon his release, he embarks on a mission to find his captors and seek revenge.
