ArtHouse Cinema Sunday

Please join us for ArtHouse Cinema Sunday Screening hosted by Best Video’s Administrative Director, Rai Bruton on Sunday, September 8th at 4pm. Once a month, Rai will present a film from Best Video’s shelves that defies the commercial constraints of the film industry and speaks to the audience through the director’s artistic vision.

There is a suggested donation of $5.

To be notified of the film’s title, please email rai@bestvideo.com and ask to be added to the email list. Or just show up and be surprised!

Some examples of Arthouse films might include The Seventh Seal by Ingmar Bergman, The Watermelon Woman by Cheryl Dunye, films by Luis Buñuel, or Chantal Akerman.

“Arthouse films, also known as art cinema or art films, are movies that are made for artistic expression rather than commercial appeal. They are often independent, experimental, and unconventional, and are intended to challenge traditional cinematic norms. Arthouse films are typically made for niche audiences and prioritize directorial creativity and artistic vision over mass-market appeal. They may also contain unconventional or highly symbolic content.
