David Chevan presents an evening of melodramatic Yiddish songs on the subject of misery and then throws in one or two songs of hope and liberation to barely balance things out. Also, with Passover coming in a couple of days he’s probably going to include a rendition of his arrangement of Eliyahu Hanavi. The group for the evening includes Dana Astmann on accordion, Will Bartlett on clarinet and other reeds, and vocalists Hedda Rubenstein and Cynthia Astmann.
