Semaphora plays Best Video Film & Cultural Center on Sat., Sept. 30. The show starts at 7 PM with openers Xray Lite (members of Someone You Can Xray) and the cover is $10.
Semaphora combines sharp academic poetry with floating grooves and fragrant harmonies to tell stories about animals and computers. Combining shades of indie, jazz, folk, and progressive rock, Semaphora sounds like Joni Mitchell's TED talk about a Steely Dan manga, or Sufjan Stevens calling Sting for help on his history homework. With two albums out and more to come, Semaphora strives to be the sort of band whose fans are accused of belonging to a cult.
Members of Someone You Can Xray perform acoustic folk rock and roots, billed as Xray Lite. Xray Lite is most often seen at coffee shops, acoustic & folk music venues, listening rooms and happy hour engagements. Xray Lite has been featured on WESU, CT ROCKS! Radio on WNHU, LBT TV, Shoreline Music Monthly, Live Lunch Break, Gramma's Attic and many more!
