Click Tracks plays an outside show at Best Video Film & Cultural Center on Fri., June 16. The show starts at 5:30 PM. (In case of bad weather, the show will take place inside.)
Click Tracks combines three artists from different backgrounds bringing unique takes on jazz standards from Bebop, Blues, Latin jazz, and more. Tap dance serves as percussion, while baritone saxophone, upright bass, and vocals carry the melodies. Band members, Eneji Alungbe, James Berlyn, and Alexis Robbins, are all Connecticut-based, multidisciplinary musicians and artists. Alungbe, a classically trained cellist and bassist, incorporates his upbringing in a Nigerian immigrant household and interests in hip-hop and Afro-Cuban music into his approach. Berlyn, baritone saxophonist, brings his experiences of playing with various groups and styles to every performance. Robbins, a tap dancer, is a percussionist and jazz musician who communicates through both dance and music.
There will be donation vases for the musicians and the venue. Please consider being generous in supporting musicians—opportunities to perform have been fewer the past couple of years. Suggested donation of $10.
The parking lot is closed off for seating. There is on-street parking on Thornton Street, as well as parking behind our building and across the street at Spring Glen Church.
