Funnybone Records Presents: Avatareden (NY)/Darling (CT/NY)/neon amor (CT)/Cat Crash (CT)

Funnybone Records presents a stacked bill of great music at Best Video Film & Cultural Center on Thurs., August. 22. The bill is AVATAREDEN (NY), Darling (NY/CT), neon amor (CT), and Cat Crash (CT). The show starts at 7 PM and the cover is a sliding scale of $10-15—pay what you can in that range.

AVATAREDEN channels rhythms, stories, and energies they are surrounded with, and produce music that is jaw-dropping and infectious. Each member has a unique connection and love for the music that has been passed down for generations, tying intricately into queer and trans identities. AVATAREDEN fuses multiple genres with psychedelic textures, resulting in explosive live performances.

Darling is the moniker of Jack Riley (they/them), a CT-born and Brooklyn-based songwriter/producer. Jack’s music is lush, emotional, and radically sincere, meant to be held as closely as an old friend. Their third album “Any Way That We Expand” is in production, and their albums “Niamh” and “No Fire” are streaming everywhere.

neon amor is a black, transfem, genderfluid artist from another planet. They pull inspiration from any and every realm, infusing storytelling with floating vocal melodies and dense soundscapes that are unique and moving.

Cat Crash are a band from Connecticut fronted by nonbinary frontperson Cecil Yang, joined by guitarist Brett Cornball and drummer Will Kneen. They are a pop punk band with riot grrrl sensibilities and queercore style. They've been compared to Destroy Boys, Bikini Kill, Emily's Sassy Lime, and Mitski.
